Prison Ministry

The Prison Ministry began shortly after the women's prison opened back in 1992. Our group goes in the first Thursday of every month to share a gospel message with the women as well as singing praise songs and hymns. Currently we have four active members that go in but are always looking for more individuals who would be interested in reaching out to a mission field right here in Cambridge Springs. If you would be interested in God's work you can contact Jack and Kathy Parsons (814)-398-8553 Michelle Wilmoth (814)-398-2580 or Ken Hale (814)-398-8209

The Garden Room is open every Saturday from 9-12. Stop down and see what is there! For questions about the Garden Room please call Laura Stone at (814) 498-2507.

Women's Ministries

American Baptist Women's Ministries

American Baptist Women at the First Baptist are part of the Wednesday morning Bible Study Group. The Christmas Eve offering serves as partial funding for local projects as well as International Mission requests. Each year we help with foreign mission requests. It may be roller bandages, health kits, baby layettes, money for hospitals that American Baptists run. Locally every year it is different. It may be for a family who had lost items due to a fire, gas money for people traveling for medical issues. The women bring a Love Gift offering once a month for other Baptist needs nationally and locally within in the church and community.

Contact person is Janet Beanland , Chairman of White Cross. (814) 398-1461

Pregnancy Center

The Pregnancy Center of Meadville is a local Christian ministry supported by FBC. The Center offers life-affirming help (alternatives to abortion), practical help, and the hope that is found in Jesus. Knowing that each life is created by and for the Lord ( Colossians 1:16), the Center educates its clients to the truth pertaining to abortion and about the One who knits together all lives within the womb. Extending hope to those that made past abortion decisions, forgiveness in Christ and how that works is explained and encouraged. Lots of material help is also available because of the Lord’s generous people. All services are free of charge. Know someone who is struggling with an unplanned pregnancy or having a difficult time providing for the basic needs of their young children? Help can be found by calling the Pregnancy Center at (814) 333-6567. Because life is a gift from God.
