Why International Missions?
Jesus is making a great name for himself among the nations, and He has called all believers to be an active part of His mission. It is our belief that every member of the church can be a part of this task.
Every member at FBC has the opportunity to participate in the work the Lord is doing overseas. First and foremost, every believer can pray. Pray for the lost who have never heard the gospel and pray for the missionaries who Jesus has called to take the gospel to these distant places. Second, every believer can give. Every time you give to the church, a portion of your gift goes to see the gospel advanced to the nations. Finally, you can go. Go to the mission field yourself, either on a short-term trip or as a long-term missionary.
Explore Short-term Sending
Thank you for considering a short-term mission trip with FBC. This is more than an overseas trip. We are boldly asking God to give us the promise he made to Jesus in Psalm 2:8: “Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance”. You are part of the answer to that prayer.
Requirements to Go Short-term
To ensure successful short-term trips that are beneficial for our partnering church planters as well as those on the team, individuals applying for FBC short-term trips should meet the following requirements:
- Be a follower of Christ,
- Be a member or regular attendee of FBC, and
- Demonstrate an understanding of the gospel and how it propels us to go to the nations. (Members of short-term teams are required to attend a missions class and required to give their testimony in a group format).
Where We Serve
Currently, FBC is partnering with church planters in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. We are in the planning stages for a short-term trip in July of 2022. If you would like more information on this opportunity please email Pastor Steven @ email@example.com.
